Allyson Felix

Allyson Michel Felix was born on the 18th of November 1985 in Los Angeles. Paul Felix, her father was a pastor ordained in the Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet school for children in the elementary grades. Felix was an athletically inclined child and discovered her love of sprinting while in the sprints at Los Angeles Baptist High School. Just 10 weeks after her first tryout she came in second place in the 200 meters at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix was a high school graduate when she graduated from school in 2003, signed a sports contract with Adidas. Then she attended an institution called the University of Southern California and studied elementary education. Felix's first Olympic medal came at the 2004 Summer Olympics, at Athens Greece. Felix set a world junior record for running 200m in 22.18 secs. In 2005, the Helsinki World Championships saw her becoming the youngest female to be crowned the winner of the 200-meter race. In 2007, she won the title by beating her Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix was consistently in the top three in all of her races in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
