Steve Aoki

Steve Aoki was created in Miami, Florida on the 30th of November 1977. Steve Aoki is an American electro house artist, record producer, D.J. and music executive. He is the third son of Rocky Aoki and Chizuru Kbayashi. His father was a former wrestler, who also founded the chain of restaurants Benihana. He has two older siblings, sister Kana (who is sometimes called by her middle name Grace) & brother Kevin (owner of Doraku Sushi restaurant). The half-sister of his model and actress Devon Aoki. He was born in Newport Beach, California and graduated from Newport Harbor High School, in which he was a part of the badminton varsity team. After having graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a Bachelor of Arts degree, He attended UC Santa Barbara. He was awarded two degrees, one in sociology, and another in feminist studies. While in college, he created self-made records and hosted underground events from his Biko room at the Santa Barbara Student Housing Cooperative. For its use as a venue for concerts, the apartment became known as The Pickle Patch. He was active in student activism and founded a Revolutionary Anti-Imperialist League section on campus. At the age of 20, he was establishing his own label which was named Dim Mak. It was a reference to his hero from his childhood, Bruce Lee. He released I'm IN THE HOUSE in the year 2000, in collaboration with the Zuper Blahq alter ego of will.i.am. The song was ranked No. 29 in the U.K. Singles Chart in its first week of release. It then entered the U.K. Dance Chart & the U.K. Indie Chart, reaching the top 5 spots in both charts. The track was featured on an episode of MTV's Jersey Shore as well as in the feature film Piranha & the trailer for Think Like A Man. Interviews with HitQuarters in May 2010 with Lucas Secon revealed that Rivers Cuomo and the singer had recently joined forces on a single. Pollstar declared him the top-grossing North America dance artist from performances in 2012. He has worked with many artists such as Afrojack and Linkin Park, Afrojack. Linkin Park, Will.i.am. Lil Jon. Blink-182, Laidback Luke. BTS. Louis Tomlinson. Rise Against. Vini Vii & Fall Out Boy. He's famous for remixes of artists like Kid Cudi
